Becoming a volunteer firefighter is a great way to serve your community. When one of our
neighbors calls 911 to report a medical emergency, fire, or motor vehicle accident, the
volunteers are the ones who respond. We use our training and our equipment to bring the
most positive outcome to every situation.
New firefighters are provided training, protective equipment and become familiar with the
fire district and policies of the department. After meeting the requirements set forth by law
and department policy, the candidate will be an entry level firefighter and will be issued a
department pager through which they will receive 911 dispatch and respond to their
assigned station and apparatus.
at fire station #1 which is located at 36024 Highway 58. We now have a new day drill time on
Tuesdays at 9:00 am for volunteers who are unable to attend Thursday night drills.
The majority of the nation has depended on volunteer (non-paid) firefighters for decades,
and it may be easier to get involved than you think! This is an opportunity for people of all
ages to help improve the community around them. If you are interested, please stop by
Pleasant Hill Fire Station #1 and ask Chief Ed Rowell for more information about being a
volunteer. Join us at one of our drills, or check our events calendar for upcoming events.
Our fire district currently has a great need for volunteer firefighters. We are here to protect
the residents and properties of the fire district. Please join with us to help our neighbors.
Volunteering to help our community is not limited to the firefighters. The Pleasant Hill Fire
Department is a community organization, committed to public service. In addition to our team
of firefighters, our operations are supported by the Pleasant Hill Fire Department auxiliary
team. The auxiliary team is an opportunity to participate in fire department activities without
the physical demands of fire combat. This group provides vital logistics that not only help
support activities on the fire ground, but they also support the department so that as a whole
we all can better provide for the community.
